1. Biomedical Equipment Technician III - Northeastern U.S.

NovaMed Corporation is seeking full-time advanced-level Biomedical Equipment Technicians proficient in repairing and maintaining a wide variety of medical equipment in healthcare environments in the Northeastern U.S.  BMET III-level experience is required for this position.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Performing scheduled maintenance
  • Inspecting, testing, calibrating equipment - including life support equipment
  • Running diagnostic programs and interpreting results
  • General troubleshooting and problem resolution to effect repairs
  • Preparing complete, timely and accurate documentation
  • Following policies, procedures, protocols, regulatory standards & codes, and Medical Equipment Management plan specifications
  • Maintaining excellent customer & vendor relationships
  • Attending and participating in meetings as appropriate (safety committees, state inspections, etc.)
  • Entering data and producing reports in computerized systems
  • Providing verbal and written reports to management.
  • Maintaining equipment and documentation to meet Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
  • Recommending new equipment and testing procedures
  • Assisting with maintenance of accurate equipment inventories
  • Communicating effectively and regularly with company management and with client & vendor representatives
  • Providing in-service training for team personnel
Your resume should demonstrate your qualifications:

  • AS Degree: Electronics/Biomedical/Related OR Relevant MILITARY Training
  • BMET III (minimum) experience - 5 or more years working as BMET with increasing responsibilities & training, in hospital or field service environment, on a wide variety of technical equipment
  • Knowledge of electronic principles and ability to interpret technical diagrams for a variety of devices
  • Understanding of basic anatomy and physiology related to functions of biomedical equipment
  • Good English language skills to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external staff
  • PC software proficiency (MS OUTLOOK,WORD, EXCEL preferred)
  • Excellent references and demonstrated top-quality customer service skills
  • Current knowledge of Joint Commission standards, other regulations (OSHA, NFPA, etc.), healthcare safety protocols, etc.
  • History of attention to detail and on-time paperwork completion

In addition, this position requires:

  • Ability to report reliably to work and to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Reliable personal transportation, satisfactory driving record
  • Good manual dexterity & hand-eye coordination to work with small parts, tools, etc.
  • Color vision to determine wiring and other safety coding
  • Ability to lift, move up to 50 lbs. equipment, tools, etc.
  • Willingness to meet client requirements for immunizations standard to healthcare environments
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States, to be provided on first day of work, if hired

Preference given to candidates with:

  • Proof of Certification (ICC) - CBET, CRES, CLET
  • Veteran/Disabled veteran status and Biomedical Equipment training/experience
  • Training certificates on specialty equipment such as ventilators/anesthesia/ lasers/sterilizers/ultrasound (e.g Viasys, Bipap, Aestiva, Holmium, YAG etc.)

2. BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN III/ ACCOUNT MANAGER
Hackettstown, NJ 

NovaMed Corporation is seeking a full time upper-level BMET proficient in repairing and maintaining a variety of complex medical equipment in a hospital environment. This position manages the client relationship based in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Managing the client relationship, in coordination with NovaMed's senior managers.
  • Performing routine repair & preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment ranging from simple to complex.
  • Inspecting, testing, calibrating equipment, devices & systems - including life support equipment
  • Running diagnostic programs and interpreting results
  • Performing safety tests to ensure patient and staff safety related to electrical/mechanical hazards
  • General troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Preparing timely and accurate documentation 
  • Following policies, procedures, protocols, regulatory standards & codes
  • Maintaining excellent customer & vendor relationships 
  • Entering data and producing reports in computerized systems
  • Providing verbal and written reports to management and client
  • Demonstrating and explaining appropriate operation of equipment to client personnel

 3. BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN I/ II (BMET I or II)                       STARTING LOCATION: Westchester County, New York

BMET I/II -Westchester County: an opportunity to use and enhance your skills as a minimally experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET), working under the guidance of a senior technician in a hospital environment. If you are ready to work as a team member at a site with the support and encouragement of a mentor with solid experience, this position will help you build on your existing skills. The successful candidate will have worked in a biomed shop, or have other direct experience with the maintenance and repair of medical equipment prior to applying with NovaMed. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply ASAP! Candidates who are interested in obtaining certification (CBET) are encouraged to apply.

 General Duties:

  • Performing routine repair and maintenance on a variety of medical equipment at a site and satellite facilities
  • Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions 
  • Inspecting, testing and calibrating equipment
  • Performing post-repair testing to confirm equipment function
  • Assisting with equipment inventory verification
  • General troubleshooting to maintain equipment in satisfactory and safe operating condition
  • Preparing timely and complete documentation
  • Following client and NovaMed policies & procedures
  • Complying with standard protocols, regulatory standards & codes
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A.S. Degree - Electronics, Biomedical, or related - OR equivalent military training.
  • 1-3 years of prior experience as a BMET.
  • Knowledge of electronic principles and devices.
  • Basic computer proficiency (data entry & word processing)
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology
  • Prior satisfactory customer service experience
  • Good written & oral communications skills
  • History of attention to detail, including time

Requirements: 

  • Basic proficiency on PC software (MS Word, Excel preferred)
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work with small parts, tools
  • Vision rated as normal for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to change focus
  • Ability to reach, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, etc. to service medical equipment 
  • Hearing within 80-100% of normal range (hearing aid acceptable to attain required range).
  • Able to lift, move 35 - 40 lb.
  • Potential limited exposure to hazardous physical, chemical and/or biological agents.
  • Able to provide documentation of current authorization to work in the United States. 

 

4. BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN III/
BIOMEDICAL SERVICE ACCOUNT MANAGER, TRUMBULL, CT

 NovaMed Corporation is seeking a full time upper-level Field Service BMET proficient in repairing and maintaining a variety of complex medical equipment. This position also oversees client relationships at several resident accounts, in cooperation with NovaMed's on site employees. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; must be eligible to work in the United States.

  • Overseeing client relationships, in coordination with NovaMed's senior managers.
  • Performing routine repair & preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment ranging from simple to complex.
